The S’well Stainless Steel Insulated Bottle is an awesome water bottle that can keep liquids cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours. It’s perfect for traveling and hiking. In our opinion, it’s the best insulated stainless steel water bottle out there and is definitely a must-have travel item.

For the last ten years, I’ve used the same stainless steel water bottle. It’s a Klean Kanteen bottle and it’s served me very well. In fact, I still use it, especially when I’m working in an office. In general, I try to avoid buying bottled water for the store, mostly because of the amount of plastic waste that is generated. Also, I’ve always felt funny buying a free resource like water. And I hate spending money on things that seem wasteful.

Key Features

For my birthday, I received a 17 ounce/500ml S’well Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottle as a gift, and it’s really changed my expectations when it comes to stainless steel bottles.

24 Hour (Cold) / 12 Hour (Hot) Insulation

S’well bottles are rated to keep water cold for 24 hours, and hot for 12 hours. The bottle is double-walled, but also includes an extra third copper layer, which prevents condensation on the exterior of the bottle. It’s made from high-grade 18/8 stainless steel, is BPA free, and come in a variety of colors and finishes.

We used our S’well Bottles during our trips to Joshua Tree National Park and the Channel Islands and they did a wonderful job of keeping the water cold all day. This was despite the temperature being close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit in Joshua Tree.

Charitable Partners

One of the things that I didn’t know about the bottle was that the company supports a variety of charity partners, including UNICEF USA, American Forests, Drink Up, and (RED).

The company is also one of the fastest growing woman-owned companies in the US. Not only do I think that this is a high-quality product, but it’s great to support companies that are trying to make this world a better place.

Easy Care Instructions

In terms of care, the bottle comes with a note saying that it should be cleaned with warm soapy water and let to dry with the lid removed. Also, the bottle should not be used in a dishwasher or microwave, or to freeze or hold liquids for long-term storage.

In terms of cons, I have yet to see anything yet. I’m curious about the durability of the finish. Though from what I can tell so far, it’s very high-quality.

Final thoughts

The bottles cost about $35 and can be purchased directly from their website or at retailers such as Amazon.
